Stop greyhound racing in Australia
Australia has the largest greyhound racing industry in the world, with more tracks than all other countries combined. We are now one of only a handful of countries where commercial greyhound racing remains legal.
In 2025, 119 greyhounds died on Australian racetracks and 10,785 injuries were recorded. Some dogs bred for racing are never registered and disappear from the system, and some registered dogs are given banned substances to boost performance.
Loopholes mean greyhounds can be sent overseas for racing and breeding, including to countries with worse animal welfare laws. A 2023 Senate inquiry confirmed that 464 Australian greyhounds have been unlawfully exported since 2015.
We need your help to call on state MPs to support a ban on greyhound racing and redirect funding toward rescue and rehoming.
The ACT has already banned racing, and Tasmania will phase it out by 2029.
It is time for this cruel industry to end Australia-wide.
